Özyeğin University Alumnus Dr. Meltem Yücel Wins the National Institute of Health’s Prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr. Meltem Yücel, a graduate of the Psychology Department at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Özyeğin University, has won the National Institute of Health’s Postdoctoral Fellowship, one of the world’s most prestigious postdoctoral fellowships. With this accolade, Dr. Yücel will continue her research in the field of child development together with Tamar Kushnir and Mike Tomasello at Duke University for a term of three years. Dr. Yücel remarked that the education and scientific thinking she acquired during her studies at Özyeğin University played an important role in her winning this prestigious fund. Over the coming days, she will investigate the short and long-term effects of gossip on children, and will take part in academic studies to support children’s social and psychological development.
